'Do you know, I always thought Unicorns were fabulous monsters, too? I never saw one alive before!' 'Well, now that we have seen each other,' said the Unicorn, 'if you'll believe in me, I'll beleive in you.' - Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking Glass I love poetry. Some favorites of Mine are Frost's'Two Roads'; Poe's 'Annabel Lee';and Teasdale's 'There will come Soft Rains'. They have inspired me to write my heart. As is life, this is a work in progress.

Lover

With the intamate knowledge
only lovers know
he carrasses my face.

With aching care his hand
trembling with emotion
he brushed my mouth.

Gentle fingers
my chin is lifted
forcing my eyes to his.

With sweet breath
he lowers himself
kissing my lips.

With pained eyes
he pulles away
leaving me lonely.

Only Dreams

Only dreams of a youth long lost
life lives, breathes.
Not in the withering thing;
cold, wispering air
forced from lungs
forced to live.

Only dreams of a love long lost
he lives, breathes.
Not in the cynical thing;
gray, staring gaze
forced from eyes
forced to watch.

Only dreams of a beauty long lost
it lives, breathes.
Not in the wrinkled thing;
frail, creeping walk
forced from bones
forced to move.

Time cruelly leaves
the withering, cynical, wrinkled
with cold, gray, frail lives
forced to remember
youth, love, beauty
as if they were
only dreams.

The German cover to The Last Unicorn Soundtrack by America, titled Lien Einhornz, is one of the most captivating reditions I've seen. I like to give credit were credit is due and the artist who made this is truly gifted.

'How can this be! There has never been a time without unicorns. We live forever. We are as old as the sky, as old as the moon. We can be hunted, we can even be killed if we leave or forest, but we do not vanish.' ~ Unicorn {The Last Unicorn [1982])
'Now I will believe in unicorns . . .' ~ Shakespeare {The Tempest} The Sea

Not sailor, or seamen, captian, nor pirate I be
But love of the ocean, smell of the waves and the sea
Find homes in hearts and souls of water creatures like we.
Born cursed with the Fitz's death haunting me
The water's music taunts and laughs with glee
At the infinate knowledge held out for all to see
With perfumed air and carrass of her breeze, she
Sings with musical voice, our beautiful seas,
Silvery eyes and mysterious depths, oceans
Beacons to all, to go where she be.

This piece of art was created by Gissel E. and I love the melding of the mythical unicorn with it's real life muse, the Narwhal. If you have a chance look at the rest of her work at (coming soon: her web address).
